How Backhaulers handles the information you share with us through this website, quote requests, and carrier onboarding.
Our privacy practices
Effective date: July 30, 2026
Information we collect
We collect the information you give us directly: name, company, email address, phone number, shipment or lane details, and anything else you include in a quote request, carrier setup packet, or message to our team.
We also receive basic technical information automatically when you browse this site, such as your browser type, device type, approximate region, referring page, and the pages you view. This is used to keep the site fast, secure, and working correctly.
How we use information
To quote, book, dispatch, track, and invoice freight; to onboard and verify carriers; to respond to your questions; and to send service updates related to shipments you have with us.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not send marketing email to people who have not asked for it, and every email we do send includes an unsubscribe option.
When we share information
We share only what is necessary to move your freight: shipment details with the carrier assigned to the load, and relevant details with insurers, claims adjusters, or accounting partners when a shipment requires it.
We use trusted service providers for hosting, email, carrier vetting, and transportation management software. They may process information on our behalf and are limited to that purpose.
We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or a government or regulatory request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Backhaulers, our customers, or the public.
Data retention
We keep shipment, carrier, and billing records for as long as we have a business relationship with you and afterward for the period required by transportation, tax, and insurance recordkeeping obligations. When records are no longer needed, we delete or archive them.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections to this website and access controls on our internal systems, to protect the information you send us. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses only the cookies and local storage needed for basic functionality and aggregate traffic measurement. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will continue to work.
For traffic measurement we use Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies to count visits, see which pages are read, and understand how visitors reach the site. We use it to improve the site, not to build advertising profiles: Google Signals and ads personalization are disabled, so this data is not used to target advertising to you across other sites.
You can opt out at any time by blocking cookies in your browser or by installing Google's official opt-out browser add-on. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you, by emailing us. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state or national privacy law.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for business use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change. The effective date below reflects the most recent revision.
